Well, uhhh some how or other he did do that Declaration and not because he was given the task from being an architect. Or a surveyor.

Ah a lawyer. Got a few of them in gov't today.

He was elected to the House of Burgesses when he was 26 and stayed in politics for 40 years or so. He wasn't exactly a Cincinnatus.

adams was given the task of writing the declaration of independence. he knew he did not have the mental capacity to compete with jefferson.

lionsgators, Adams lacking mentally? Not on your life. Adams was considered the theoretician of the American revolution. In fact, he was one of the most feared of the Revolutionary leaders and the British really wanted to capture him.
