Those pics were not of a 6th grader, 11-12 years old.
These kids reportedly used their phones to transmit child porn.

Why any 6th grader needs a smart phonies beyond me.
I think you've misunderstood--read the OP's link. The picture was of another student--they didn't pull porn off the web and transmit it. Somebody either took a picture of a girl changing during gym, (or somewhere) etc. or the girl sent a picture of herself to someone and it was passed around. Sixth grade is really young for that type of "sexting."
I do agree with this--sixth graders don't need smart phones, although many texting phones can also take and send pics. Like I said, my kids only had a very very basic phone at that age, entirely for our convenience.
how ridiculous to make a bad situation 10x worse. have the girl 'punch' the boys in the face???
Are you serious? She would be arrested for assault.
where do you live?
Live in NJ. And I highly doubt anyone would be arrested for self defense after being touched where they shouldn't be without permission.
Imagine it. Boy grabs girls butt. Girl punches boy. Now boy runs and tells that girl punched him for grabbing her butt??
I don't think so. He will be in more trouble than her. Here in NJ, a grab like that is criminal sexual contact and if the authorities feel like it, it can be charged with a degree subject to Megan's Law.
See how that punch could teach a lesson without ruining anyone's life?
Children often do get charged for absurd quasi-sexual misconduct, but the religious right and male-hating elements of the left share about equally in the infamy.
I want to know how he got the picture of the naked girl to begin with. We are talking about 11 to 12-year-old children.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out the girl took it herself and sent it to her "boyfriend".
These kids have NO CLUE until after the fact and it's too late to "take it back".
I'm in the middle schools.
Pictures of drunk 12 year olds hugging the bowl are another "biggie" that gets sent around and posted on Facebook.
Pictures of students changing into gym clothes, pictures of students in bathroom stalls, etc.
You name it and these kids are taking pictures of it and posting it all over.
What do you expect when you put these smartphones in the hands of 10,11,12 year olds ?

It's immature kids being given adult technology and using it like a toy.
