Good news, GOP! Two of your more notorious crooked pols from the GWB era are getting released from prison!

Ex-NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik Leaves Prison | TPM LiveWire

Bernie "Kickback" Kerik, former police commissioner for NYC (Rudy Giuliani's "mini-me") is the first to get the $100 gate money, a new suit, and a taxi ride.

Next up is Randall "Duke" Cunningham, who served his mandatory 80% of an eight-year federal sentence for bribery and tax evasion.

Who says the GOP has a weak bench, with these two coming off the sidelines?

The GOP has no one to blame but itself for its incompetence.

I was getting worried.

We almost went an hour here without a self-vindication thread about how the "other guys" are bad....to justify unthinking party loyalty.

What a fail of a thread. You go out of your way to act like every republican is somehow cheering for these criminals.

George Ryan gets out this year. Will you be throwing a party? What about Blagojevich? I see your commisioner and raise you two governors.

Democrats... such a silly bunch!
Mayor of DC, Marion Barry gets caught doing crack in a hotel with a hooker, bribed witnesses, is found guilty, gets slap on the wrist 3 year sentence, goes to jail, get's out of jail in 92, wins back a council seat just a few months later (he is a felon), and is re-elected Mayor of DC in 1994. It must be good to be a Democrat if one is a criminal.

No wonder Anthony Weiner believes he can win NY!

Do you really think you have a chance with this nonsensical thread?

What about Rod Blagojevich? Don't you think someone will throw a party for him when he gets out of jail?

What about former Congressman William Jefferson (La) who hid his bribe money in the freezer? Yeah - he's a smart one.

Do you think former Illinois governor George Ryan (Democrat) had a party waiting for him when he got out prison?

How about Jesse Jackson Jr? Recently convicted of campaign fraud?

What about Detroit's former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick?

What about Wash DC mayor Marion Barry?

For every Republican that has been convicted of a crime, I bet there are an equal or greater number of Democrats. It is a politician's disease, not specific to a party.
