Because we are members of the World community, not the overlords of it. The killing in Syria needs to stop and we really can't arm the "good" rebels, because they may not even exist. Frankly, McCain isn't the person I would trust to determine who the "good" guys are. So stop Assad from using air power and let the Civil War go on between the various extremist groups.

If we stopped bankrolling these rebels there might not have even been a "civil war".

Why in the world would you have thought that? Certainly not from anything he has said or done with our foreign policy and defense interests. Why do you think the Conserves hate him so much? It's because he has wrenched the National Defense card out of the Right's hands and put it squarely in the possession of the Dems. The Repubs no longer have that as a strong point politically. Obama proved it was an illusion that they had it in the first place.
