These codes have nothing to do with Obamacare. They are the international standard, known as ICD-10. The only reason they seem new is that America, with its screwed up health care system, is the last country on Earth to adopt the system.

The rest of the world has had ICD-10's since 1992, the US has been lagging behind and trying to catch up since then.

Kinda...

Up until a few years ago, we used ICD9, which contained about 17,000 codes, the transition to ICD10 deadline was supposed to be finished by October of this year but is being pushed back.

Believe it or not, yep they do..

Now what they dont have, is the Obamacare tax codes i.e. the .10 additions to the procedure codes.

How many codes do other countries have?

I understand that the US has had 18,000 codes before this change. Why so many more to be added?
