The draft is not voluntary. If you are forced into the military then it would probably be safe to say that you didn't want to fight in the war. If you didn't want to fight in the war then how are you a war monger?

War-mongering and being drafted are separate things. Plus, there are plenty of women in the military that aren't war-mongers.

Yes, it should absolutely include women. Women have clamored for equality for years. They want all the perks of both sexes, without any of the downfalls.

Ayup. But we should also figure out some type of deferment for couples with kids under two. Don't think it'd be great to have both parents deployed away from home.

I'm also in favor of mandatory 1 year military service and the the draft because I'd like to think the possibility of having to cash checks your mouth writes would spur an increase in political participation.

I am against the draft. The government doesn't own it's citizens.

"A free society must always resort to volunteers. Tyrants think nothing of forcing men to fight and serve in wrongheaded wars. A true fight for survival and defense of America would elicit, I am sure, the assistance of every able-bodied man and woman. This is not the case with wars of mischief far away from home, which we have experienced often in the past century.
A government that is willing to enslave some of its people can never be trusted to protect the liberties of its own citizens."

Do you think that women should be included in the draft.
Yes, but we aren't going to bring back the draft. The American military doesn't want it.

I personally know a whole lot of woman in the military, including my daughter in law, who are a whole lot saner than you are - and they are PROUD to serve their country.

What have YOU done to serve your country? Anything?

Certain Members of Congress, like Charlie Rangle, want the draft brought back. And, if it were, women should have to register.

Could you possibly PROVE that statement????? I hate to shoock you but women aren't REALLY all cattle...many think for themselves and have different ideas
Many have not shirked their responsibilities that come with equality.

LOL! I love all these posts about how (thumping chest)"Women want equality ..blah, blah, blah..."

Ya, for 10,000 years most men didn't give a damn about women's rights and NOW they think they can comment! Now they think THEY will determine what women will or won't do!

Whine whine whine "Oh, mercy me, heavens to betsey, them women might just get something WE don't have!!! Oh Horrors!""

BUT let's hear you all complain about how women's wages are still lower than men's across the board....

... let's hear you all complain about the RAPES by FELLOW SOLDIERS, the sexual harrassment BY FELLOW SOLDIERS, of female soldiers.
(AND until it stops then women should NOT be drafted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Lets' hear you all complain about the many women who have died or been mutilated in war for this country.....ALREADY!!!!!
