Why wouldn't they? 99% of strikes in this country have involved workers rejecting much better offers from employers. Most union workers would strike in a heartbeat if they were offered what fast food workers are paid.

They'd lose some customers who wouldn't want to deal with the pickets and such outside. While negative effects would probably be brief, a strike has potential for alienating customers long-term.
