The 21-year-old Chester woman could end up spending the next five years behind
bars if she is found guilty under the new "Brad Fox Law," named after a fallen
Plymouth Township officer. The law is designed to strengthen prison sentences
for those who purchase guns for convicted felons, the Delaware County District
Attorney's office said.

Woman charged under new straw purchase gun law

It seems like a sensible step, prosecuting someone that has broken both state and federal laws.. I have to wonder, this state law mirrors federal law with respect to purchasing a gun for a felon or someone otherwise unable to legally posess one. Two questions...

1) Why does the state have to do the job of the federal government, who has responsibility for enforcing federal firearms laws?

2) Will Holder and Co. file suit against the state for doing a job that is the function of the feds?

The feds rarely enforce Federal Firearm laws. That is why the NRA is constantly calling for the enforcement of current laws.

I'm shocked. A gun law that is actually being enforced. I thought we were only for passing new laws to ignore, not enforcing the ones already on the books, I get no 'feel good' sensation out of enforcing current laws!

Should be 5 years per incident. So two guns would give her 10 years.

I am pretty sure that the federal law already carries a 10 year penalty.

Vice President Biden is from Delaware, so no.

If this had been done in Arizona...different story.

The Obama Adminstration doesn't like Arizona to do jobs that it won't do.
