NC is one of the states looking to tax green cars because they are losing revenue on gas tax....they get you one way or the other!

Our governments need to be removed and started over. Completely. Our lawmakers are idiots.

Default Doing our part to eliminate using fossil fuel and TAXED because of it

Con-men always go for the easiest, most gullible "marks".

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. There is also another reason, Tesla wants to open an (electric) car dealership in North Carolina, and they are going crazy in a bad way there.

Did you forget about the $7500 we taxpayers gave you when you purchased it?

And who asked you to eliminate fossil fuels? Not me.

This has often been argued for by those addicted to the money of others. Governments have long argued for a tax on miles driven as opposed to a tax on fuel as those who drive a lot and buy more efficient vehicles don't pay "their fair share".

Why should hybrids and electric vehicles be excluded from that argument? After all the argument is that roads must be repaired and electric vehicles are still adding to those costs.

I've been paying a premium for a long time since I drive a diesel VW.

I think the case is Tesla sells cars over the internet and NC was allegedly trying to protect brick & mortar dealers, so much more the mythical Republican love of free markets.

The new Governor is a typical right wing hypocrite, he gave members of his cabinet raises averaging 8% just before he started telling others they'd have toi start doing some belt tightening. The proposed tax on hybrids/electrics is just more of the same, let's have MORE government when it suits the righty agenda, big government is only bad to these hypocrites when it doesn't.
