Not in the more progressive states. They'll haul you up on charges and it will cost you a fortune in legal fees to have your side argued in court.

Best beg for mercy or tell the assaulters they're not respecting your rights and that they should just leave.

Hate crimes require PROOF of a bias-motivation. I am unaware of the unequal application of bias-motivated enhancement laws when there is PROOF of such a criminal motivation.

Are you?

I find it very interesting (by interesting I mean disturbing) that you "don't care" whether there is proof or not. For me, "equal justice" - or any kind of justice for that matter - required proof.

I wasn't thinking of the media. I was thinking about just general day to day relations.

It depends on what "progressive state" you're in. Some liberal states allow CCW. Only Illinois doesn't allow CCW.

Rotten parents not raising their children right is one problem. However, on the "it takes a village", well, this is how I look at it. The "it takes a village" adage only works when EVERYONE is looking out for the community. If one member doesn't do his part, it can cause a problem. It takes a village AND a two parent household. It takes the parents raising the kid the right way, and it takes the community to keep crime under control.

New Jersey has strict gun laws already. I was just saying that Illinois is that only state that doesn't allow CCW. Doesn't New Jersey allow it as of 2013?
