They all use their elected status to further benefit themselves personally.
A normal Joe couldn't get elected today if they wanted to. A seat in Congress is very expensive these days.

Yes, members of both parties in Congress do this, but that doesn't make it right. It's the press double standard I don't like. I'll be shocked if national news gives this wide coverage.

I dont see the conflict of interest. Other people have already looked into this. I am sure CBRE has sold government buildings hundreds of times in the past 20 years. Now there is a conflict of interest?

Interesting read. If nothing else, it is remarkable how many times lucative contracts go to people related to a member of Congress. It is, seemingly, a very small world, and one I am not, unfortunately, part of.

The fact that Senator Feinstein introduced a bill to halt the sale of the Post Office buildings may, to a cynical mind, suggest that she introduced the bill knowing it would fail, and to provide some 'credibility' or 'cover'.


I shudder to think of people being that cynical.
