There would be a sudden loss of gravity and we would float away

I don't know how the US would be different, but I do think Canada has a much better way of forming its government than we do.

I'm not sure if we'd be as good of a country as Canada is because their system may not work for our country, but we should strive to follow their shining example of how to be a decent country.

Canada is still subservient to another nation/Monarch.

Regardless of how Canada portrays itself to the World, the Queen still appoints the Governor General and the Governor General still has to sign documentation.

While you folks, on the other hand, elect a tinpot, unqualified, self absorbed, egotistical figurehead who then targets you through using government agencies like the DOJ and IRS to screw with your rights and who ultimately ends up a millionaire through patronage and bribery.

Yep, your system is sooo much better. I'll gladly stick with our system with it's better fail-safes built in and the Queen who has at least got some kind of moral underpinnings and has demonstrated that for over 60 years now.

How many corrupt Presidents, VP's and leaders of the House groups have you had to tolerate in that same period of time?

The proof is in the pudding!
