its getting severe. i honestly worry what is going to happen.
Will there to be protests or riots? Will there be broad resignations and an impeachment? Or will this just fade away trough american popular lethargy?
Was the Boston police/military dragnet/terrorist hunt just a practice for future "crackdowns" on dissident Americans?
What do people here think will happen???
In the end, the question looms... did Bin Laden achieve his goal- to destroy America???
This slowly removes all avenues to stage a resistance to government actions. It will get to the point even if the government did something obviously against the Constitution, like decided in invalidate a few Amendments, absurd authoritarian laws, suspend elections, etc; it will become impossible to organize any counter to this because all avenues will have been closed down, and the gov will ensure any organized resistance (not speaking violent) will be very fractured and ineffective.
An example of this was how the Bolsheviks maintained their power; simply destroyed any means in which a resistance could be organized. Of course these measures started out simple and harmless enough, and anyone against was immediately labeled "counter revolutionary" and charged with Article 58. The minute these avenues were opened up, we saw the results.
The basics of political science 101 is "people seek power", so everyone should be weary of when the gov, made up of people, has a constant drive to increase their power; there will be an equilibrium and tipping point that will be reached.
I find it sad that only now, when the corporate media pulls at everyone's strings and decides to report it, everyone gets all pissed and furious. "Oh my gawd, how can they do this?!"
