Why is it that the US has not English and French as an official language, while Canada do? Why not start mandating public schools to start teaching French from grade 1 until high school?

French and English are the official UN language.

Actually, English and Spanish would make more sense here. We don't have a large french speaking population here. We do have a large Spanish speaking population. We also have a large arabic speaking population too. Maybe we need three?

Sounds like you need to study the colonization of North America. Also the military conflicts from the French-Indian War... The American Revolution... The War of 1812... the Louisiana Purchase... that will explain why the US is an English speaking country. Then looking at the confederation of Canada with the British and French Canadians forming the French speaking province of Quebec will explain why Canada speaks English and French.

The Colorado Constitution was originally published in three languages: English, Spanish, and German. And until 1900, all official state communications were published in all 3 languages.

Louisiana has no official language but both French and English are legal there.

If you want to have a French experience, then go to France. You've been shot down in the Canada forum for saying that Québec should only have French road signs. Give it a rest.
