It will be easy to take him into custody in Iceland, which has a NATO airbase.

Yea, sure.

Define "sloppy handling".

Anyone that actually worked around this stuff knows you are full of it.

Generally, only intentional dislosure is prosecuted, and even that depends on a variety of factors. The punishment could range from nothing, all the way to prison.

A person who unintentionally violated a security practice is generally (again, depends on factors) all but immune from any prosecution or even getting in trouble at a non-judicial punishment (if military); the basis is that it is better to tell so the gov can fix (like supercede a compromised crypto key), than for the person to be tempted to hide the breach and gov security is compromised.

I have never attended any training that stated punishments for compromising security, nor have I ever heard the term "sloppy handling" used.

If you mean Kaflavik, that has closed.

Not that having a base has anything to do with Iceland's laws in regards to taking someone into custody and extraditing them.

Man deserves praise from the entirety of the nation. But that wont stop the government and media from labelling him as a terrorist.

Good luck to him. He injected reality into a government fantasy and that is always a boon.

Iceland is wet and cold but the people are warm and supportive of each other. Not to mention ballsy enough to arrest and try for fraud a World Bank thief.

Did you guys know that many people who request their Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) releases from the NSA are denied because it's said that providing such information will expose covert intelligence gathering technology and methods? With PRISM now in the public domain that excuse may no longer be valid. So yeah, now innocent Americans may be able to find out why the NSA is spying on them which in my mind is a very good thing and more in keeping with the ideals of our founding fathers.
I doubt it. Clapper declassified some parts.
Clapper made it sound very benign. Lots of use of "foreign intelligence" and "foreign target" to give the impression they are not intercepting US citizen data.
Tech companies saying the NSA does not have "direct" access.
So Clapper, the same guy that said in March they were not collecting data on Americans, is saying PRISM is so benign that it doesn't even work Trust him, he's from the government and he's here to help.

Now this goes against Obama's latest speech which said the "global" war on terror is over and we're going to focus on the homegrown terror being caused by deranged US citizens.

And Hague is in some hot water over PRISM being used in the UK as they have pretty strict rules on privacy.
http://www.interaksyon.com/infotech/...cyber-snooping

Parts of NSA's PRISM program declassified

Total guess on my part here:
NSA is running a proxy server intercepting all client to server communication.
Man in the middle scenario. SSL is now broke.
Tech companies saying no "direct" access is correct.
But the BS is that the NSA is only looking at "foreign" anything.

Room 641A setup now looks benign to what they are doing today.

So phone and internet are covered now.
What's left is for them to set up listening devices all over America so they can "intercept" foreign terrorists talking about blowing up stuff and killing Americans face to face.
Who knows..maybe that's in place already.

You are correct, however divulging classified information that shows illegal, unconstitutional and obviously unethical practices supersedes the classified restriction.

This is a woeful breach of 4th amendment rights, which needs to be brought to light. Labeling something classified to avoid any and all scrutiny and legal challenges is right from the playbook of fascism.

hold on. He may be a whistleblower or a glory hound. How many times did he partake in violating others privacy before he had a crisis of guilt? The only thing anyone knows is that he claims to be the snitch. For all we know he did to get a movie or a book deal.
