We did persist but our numbers are too small and we have very little representation in Congress.
Ron Paul is gone now.

I do send plenty of emails to my reps about issues.
But all I ever get back are the canned "I'm working hard for you" responses

I commented yesterday on a CBS story about some Intel Official saying these NSA records helped to catch the NYC subway bomber. Total lie because Pakistan tipped us off and they got an FBI wire tap on the guy and caught him.
My comment was that the story was incorrect and why didn't CBS correct the official.
My comment sat "pending" for 10 minutes and then disappeared.
It was not accepted by the CBS moderators.

Please expand on the answer (s) you choose.
"The great strength of the totalitarian state is that it forces those who fear it to imitate it"

MY response to those "canned responses" ought to be "I'll remember that come election time."

Sorry to rain on your parade, but a lot of us have been opposed for decades. There just wasn't enough support to do anything about it. People are finally begining to wake up and hopefully there will be enough outrage to get some things accomplished. Actually I have my doubts, but I'm all in!!

Over 10 years now and it doesn't seem to matter who goes to DC.
They all use that canned response.

The FedGov is too big to care.

Not true at all. Millions of conservatives opposed it from the beginning. And EVERY Senator except one voted for it in 2001. And Obama signed it's renewal.

So don't dump the Patriot Act on conservatives. Obama owns it now.

Now that you people see the dangers it poses, you're suddenly against something you originally supported.

Well, conservatives, how does irony feel?
Ron Paul was opposed from the beginning.

We may be further than PA my friend.
None of us know where we are on that road right now; just that we are on that road.
Maybe, but based on what evidence we have, that's where we're at. We certainly aren't at the Mississippi River yet. We enjoy rights here in America that much of the world does not.
