Jesse Thornton, a 61-year-old retired firefighter, hadn't been drinking when he was pulled over by police one night in Surprise, AZ. However, Thornton says the officer told him, "I can tell you're driving DUI by looking in your eyes."
We had a talk show host in Austin get thrown into jail for DWI.
The cops saw him coming out of a bar and get in his car and they followed him.
Those cops didn't realize who they arrested though because he was all over the radio with his story.
Guess what ? Charges were dropped for lack of sufficient evidence.

If the allegations are true, there'll be a nice settlement in that man's future.
I can see people who might be disabled, or having a certain type of medical condition failing field sobriety tests, what if a person had a stroke or what if a person had back problems, or came back from combat duty where they were shot in a leg or something. Some police cruisers are equipped with breathalyzer test devices.
If you read the article, it appeared like the man was being harassed, he'd been pulled over 10 times.

I hope he sues and wins, bankrupts the town and then moves somewhere else with all that money.
I hope the gentleman receives a healthy compensation for his ordeal.
This all goes to big brother knows best, top down. In this case the police force obviously felt empowered to harass this man.
5 years ago I attended a party after work. I didnt drink. I had 2 slices of pizza and 3 cokes.
A cop sitting outside the bar followed me then pulled me over. Allegedly for a turn signal violation. He also accused me of being under the influence.
I did the field test and passed. Odd but I didnt get a ticket for the turn signal either.
Small town cops have huge egos.

Sure it appears that way, but the article only tells one side of the story.
I hope the gentleman receives a healthy compensation for his ordeal.

Sometimes pay checks need to be justified.
