The ramifications stretch beyond the White House. If enough Americans lose faith in Obama, he will lack strong coattails come next fall's congressional elections. Big losses in those races will make it harder for the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016, especially if it's Hillary Rodham Clinton, to run as an extension of Obama's presidency and convince the American public to give Democrats another four years

Only if they plan on running a legit libertarian as an R. The only way this country is going to be great is to come back to the BoR's and the Constitution, without progressive interpretations. The NDAA, IRS, FED, and several other institutions need to be dissolved. The bankers who coordinated plundering the world in 2008 need to be brought before judges (not in their pockets). Monsanto, BIG PHARMA, BIG AGRA, the the FDA needs to be investigated for collusion and tyranny.

If another party line Republican is elected, we're totally screwed!

P.S. McCain, Pelosi, Boxer, and Reid all need to be voted out as well. The crazy train has to be stopped.

The citizens need to stop the in-fighting before anything serious can be accomplished to help us out.

Currently we have divided ourselves and have canceled ourselves out while the politicians continue to wreck things.

none of those scandals will stick because they are in the imagination of insane conservatives.
Obama's polling on honesty has already dropped 9% points from when he took office. He know has the same ratings as McCain had in 2008.

Maybe no single issue will stick. In totality it will leave Obama on the defensive the entire rest of his second term and he'll have to spend precious time trying to explain to people how he can be trusted again in the face of overwhelming evidence that he is the politician he ran against not once, but twice.

And then of course he's going to have to say "trust me" on immigration reform, shoring up SS, implementation of a national database (snickers) for medical records and real live bona fide cost restrictions to health care via IPAB as the nation feels the full ramifications of:

A group health plan and a health insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage may not establish—
(A) lifetime limits on the dollar value of benefits for any participant or beneficiary; or
(B) except as provided in paragraph (2), annual limits on the dollar value of benefits for any participant or beneficiary.
I wouldn't be holding my breath but you're more than welcome to...

conservatives don't want unity with millions of other Americans.

I don't know why we keep pretending otherwise. conservatives hate and speak out against their fellow Americans all the time and every day.

If you are a single mom, conservatives see you as a leech and immoral. If you are a poor person conservatives see you as a leech and immoral. If you are an immigrant conservatives see you as a leech who isn't assimilating, if you don't pay income taxes conservatives see you as a leech, if you are a muslim conservatives see you as dangerous. If you are homosexual conservatives see you as dangerous.

As long as we have such a huge percentage of Americans who think like this about other Americans any unity that attempts to involve those people is doomed, conservatives hate too many other Americans.

There's a difference from a united America and a collective based America that makes the Borg envious.

The President's legislative agenda doesn't really depend on public opinion. If as it is unlikely, but if the Democrats win the majority in the house and 60 votes in the Senate then his agenda will move forward, if they don't then conservatives will continue to not govern.

I don't even know what that means, but ok. Again, Americans can call for unity all they want, but conservatives don't want unity.

Policy differences can be ironed out, but when conservatives believe as they do that they are the REAL Americans and that certain parts of the Nation are where the REAL Americans live, then this is all you need to know about conservatism, and this isn't some local yokels making these divisive statements it is ELECTED conservatives who regularly crap on the people of Detroit, or Chicago, or California, or New York.

It is conservatives who crap on single moms, poor people, homosexuals, immigrants, muslims, etc and so on.

It was Newt Gingirch that said he'd tell black people how to work and that he wanted poor children to be janitors in schools, and it was conservatives who applauded that appalling bs.

That stuff is the core of who conservatives are hateful people who are afraid and angry that America is changing demographically.

conservatives hate too many other Americans to participate in some kind of American unity with those citizens.

The worst fiscal record of any POTUS

The first ever downgrading of the U.S. credit rating

The Slowest economic recovery in history

Are these things all imaginary?
