The big difference between 2003 and 2013 is the Bush administration was asserting that they didn't need warrants or court approval, not even from the FISA courts. The Obama administration obtained the warrants and approval from the Judicial Branch.

Back in 2006,

Biden said “I don’t have to listen to your phone calls to know what you’re doing,”

“If I know every single phone call you made, I’m able to determine every single person you talk to, I can get a pattern about your life that is very, very intrusive. And the real question here is: What do they do with this information that they collect that does not have anything to do with al Qaeda?"

Yep, I caught the beginning. It caught my attention how Biden / liberals were so against it when it was Bush.

The Illusion of Democracy works well when foreign interests pull the strings, but arguing about Dems vs Repubs is silly ,they are too much alike to argue about, just different shades of the same dull grey

Did you catch the guy when they talked about the guy with 22 kids by 14 different girls? He just didn't seem to care about the kids or who is paying for them.

stupid partisan drivel...

nobody should like surveillance...

Dem or Repub...anybody who can "deal" with it or be indifferent about it is a coward and an absolute statist and they deserve to get thrown in a prison camp.

The question in these polls are different between 2002/2006 and 2013. The 2013 question includes a reference to "court ordered" monitoring vs "without court approval" in the earlier question.

That change would make a huge difference in how I would respond to the question.

You trust our courts?
