OK, I was talking to a friend and he said the reason we need to hurry up and impeach Obama is because the longer it takes the more laws will have to be rescinded that he signed as "President".

But if that crisis is going to cover at least 5 years of new laws and appointments, isn't the better thing for the Republic to maintain the status quo?

It seems to me that it is better to suffer the forgery than trigger the Constitutional crises by trying to prevent the Constitutional crisis.

The short answer is that... it doesn't matter, no laws will be rescinded.

The "De Facto Officer Doctrine" establishes that even were Obama found to be a alien from another planet, all his acts as President would remain valid, official and legally binding.

The doctrine was established pretty much for the reason you suggest.

I still have questions. It seems when backed to far in to a corner they just stop giving answers. Which is another thing I find interesting. Ask a question and if they don't like it they don't answer. Seems to me that's exactly what they are blaming Obama for.

Thanks! I see where the other side has shot this down (with their logic). 8 USC § 1401 seems pretty solid to me but someone has suggested states can override and someone else said it doesn't count because the words "natural born" aren't in the statute. I guess it should have been written in French.

What difference would that make?

Yes - and it is also correct, because nothing is going to change the fact that President Obama is eligible to be president by virtue of him being born in Honolulu, HI.

To be eligible, one must qualify.

Without de facto qualification!

Agreed.

What would the impeachment process accomplish?

No one has the political will to throw this President out, therefore, impeachment or not, he will remain.
