You can call me Ceece. I'm not in the habit of calling anyone names but that doesn't mean the word "retarded" is banned from my vocabulary. I'm sure someone with your IQ can figure out how I do that.
Tell us from the above video at what point Maher calls Trig retarded?
What Maher said about Palin was that she was part of a "family of inbred weirdos," and I didn't hear him say anything directly about Palin's son. What Maher also said was that Palin was a 'professional victim and whiner,' which by her reaction seems to be absolutely true.
And you're sure this is the line in question?
Well, even if it isn't, I am curious if there are any other explanations for his comment about her "family of inbred weirdos... straight from 'The Hills Have Eyes'". He did seem to imply the family is inbred, rather than just one child. But I can see how people would assume he was referring to the one child with Down syndrome as well.
LOL! The old "that's different" excuse for an azzhat like Rush!
When a word is not directed to a person how can you say it's used wrong? No excuse for Rush, he didn't use the word in referencing a human being! Your drawing lines in the sand, not Palin.
When a tree grows fully with lots of water and nutrients - it is fully developed...If a tree is exposed to harsh conditions - such as drought - then it's growth is considered retarded. Why has this word become so politically incorrect?
I have wondered this also, I have a sister in her early 60's and we always referred to her as retarded. We were never allowed to make fun of her learning disabilities, but the word was never offensive to any of us or her. It's not like we stood around calling her retarded all the time.
FLASHBACK: When Rush Limbaugh's Hate Was Televised | Blog | Media Matters for America Limbaugh began the segment by noting that the New York Daily News' David Hinckley published a list of who's entering and leaving the White House. Limbaugh stated: "He says, In: A cute kid in the White House. Out: Cute dog in the White House.' Could -- could we see the cute kid? Let's take a look at -- see who is the cute kid in the White House."
The program then put up a picture of Millie, the Bush family's dog. Limbaugh responded, in mock confusion, "No, no, no, no. That's not the kid." The program then puts up a picture of Chelsea Clinton, with Rush saying, "that's the kid."
I guess IOKIYAR.
I'm not sure I understand this but if you're saying Rush was targeting a kid as well, I say that's wrong too. Why is it so hard to denounce a behavior when it occurs on both sides? Why the need to point out that someone else did it to avoid denouncing a behavior because someone shares some similar political views? If it's wrong, it's wrong.
