Secondly, these giant mountains of debt wouldn't exist if we had an education system like any other first world country. You can say what you want about that, but the US is getting blown out of the water in education by the rest of the first world.
Lastly, unless you're getting a science degree, other degree's aren't necessarily better. Having a mediocre GPA at a state school business school isn't going to get you anywhere, either. The fact that Liberal Arts and the associated intellectualism that accompanies it is discouraged or "made fun of" by conservatives is a HUGE part of the reason the US lags in education, US voters are generally uneducated about issues, and why US citizens have no global awareness beyond what lies from "sea to shining sea".
US citizens don't know how our own government works, can hardly speak any foreign languages (Most Europeans and Africans speak at least two), and typically fail to understand the constitution, no nothing of the personal history of its founders, and nothing of Hobbes, Voltaire, Monestquieu et al whose writings were the actual foundation of the constitution, NOT THE BIBLE.
Don't believe read the letters of Ben Franklin. Or TJ. Or any founding father you like.
Just like the education system in America --- at least there's a commonality there.
