This is just a silly list from some union website. I'd say at least half this stuff was solved before unions had any type of power or standing. Like child labor and 40 hour work week were both solved by non-union capitalists decades before the unions "fixed" them.

And they didn't really fix the pay gap did they? Otherwise these women would stop complaining about it.

If unions lie about these 3 things why should we believe them about any other claims they make up???/
IF you want to argue that unions NO longer have a place in today's workforce, that is more believable.

But to argue that unions never benefitted the working man - is ludicrous.

Do your knees ever get worn out from kneeling at the alter of big business?

Why do we need unions today?
  • They demand unreasonbly high pay and benefits, resulting in increased cost to consumers of goods and services.
  • They impead efforts to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • They behave like thugs (they are thugs), and are anti-capitalists.
Whatever good unions did in the past is far overshadowed by the evil that exists in the unions today.

Unions feel as if they can't freely convince workers to join and pay dues. Therefore, the unions feels that it needs to force coercion so that you have no choice but to join. Hence the very anti-American belief of unions to have public votes for recertification - so if you vote the wrong way - you get harassed. I have seen it happen.

One look at government data proves the unions are lying about them having anything to do with increased wages, reducing work hours or eradicating child labor. All things that were taken care of by capitalism long before unions "saved" us. Since they unashamedly lie about those things I doubt they are telling the truth about much else.

How many union bosses have ended up in prison? How many have been mixed up with the mafia? These are the people you worship? lols.

You should read "Regulating the Poor" by Obama supporters Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. They show why big business and politicians allowed unions power (hint: it was to benefit corporations, not workers). Think about it: companies and government had all the power. They could have easily just outlawed unions or crushed them out of existence. You think they decided to "share" power because some workers "pressured" them. LMFAO. Unions are the biggest scam ever perpetrated on the American public.

$400,000.00 per year for a union stagehand?

Some of the highest-paid people at Carnegie Hall will never have their names on the big posters outside or sit in its executive suites or stand next to famous conductors. They are members of Carnegie’s permanent stage crew, the self-effacing men in dark suits who glide out to tote a podium, shift a music stand and make sure that concerts start on time, or at all.

At Carnegie Hall, a vast majority of artists who perform on its stages earn far less than the hall's permanent stage crew.

The men — Dennis O’Connell, properties manager; James Csollany, carpenter; John Goodson and John Cardinale, electricians; and Kenneth Beltrone, carpenter — were identified on Carnegie’s tax return for the 2007-8 season as being the hall’s leading five earners after its top executive, Clive Gillinson. Their annual compensation ranged from Mr. O’Connell’s $422,599 (with an additional $107,445 in benefits and deferred compensation) to Mr. Goodson’s $327,257 (with $76,459 in benefits and deferred compensation), the return showed....

That would shrink it far, far more..meaning a big-time decrease in overall US jobs.

Then don't be dumb enough to work in a unionized workplace, especially if the state doesn't have right to work. If unionized workers in states which don't have right to work feel the union is ripping then off, then they should vote the union out. If they feel they are better off with the union, don't expect them to get rid of the union.

But Costco is heavily unionized. This company makes money and has to compete against Sam's of Wal-Mart, which doesn't have one union member as an employee.
