The sole and only purpose of this bill is to illegitimately redefine by statute what the Constitution means by "subject to the jurisdiction of the United States" for the sole purpose of denying citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants born on US soil.
Why should criminals be rewarded when others have to go through the lengthy and expensive legal naturalization process?
This condition allows the children of only one legal immigrant parent to acquire birthright citizenship even before the parent completes the naturalization process:
