The pattern of penetrations, if any, would reveal which, if any, engines had exploded. Are any of the original remains preserved anywhere or have they all been melted doen into Budweiser cans?

I was and am still skeptical of the "fuel tank wiring shorting and sparking" explanation. A fuel tank completely full of fuel and vapor without oxygen does not explode due to a spark.

That tank was prepped and ready to blow, with temperatures over 145 degrees before it exploded. What isn't surprising is that a vapor filled tank exploded, what is surprising is that it doesn't happen more often

Why does it make someone a conspiracy nut who questions something? A nut is someone who believes everything they're told.

I grew up on Long Island and had moved by the time of this incident, I know two people who said they saw a red flare in the sky(as did many people) followed by a big burst in the sky that night.

This plane was shot down, either by accident or on purpose.

I watch the show Air Disasters regularly and I just watched one last night about an airliner that an engine's combustion can, or something like that, exploded and it took down the plane. It blew shrapnel right through the wing and fuselage causing the plane to come apart.

I would like to know what roles they played in the original investigation, though...

It's not unknown for people to boost their credentials. (In)famous Apollo hoax believer Bill Kaysing was paraded around as a "former Rocketdyne employee" by those claiming Apollo was faked, and while it was technically true, he was merely a technical writer with no engineering background or responsibilities. (I bring up the Apollo Hoax because Fox hyped that particular pile of crud in a "documentary" back in 2001.)

When a key person in this TWA 800 movie is a physicist with a Ph.D in organic superconductors, I can't help thinking that he's strayed a bit outside his field of expertise. And he wasn't part of the NTSB investigation, either.

We'll see...

This is most likely what we will find out.

well. .I hate to tell you this Sir, but if the "official story" in your mind is BS and you believe that a training exercise went awry, that it took down a plane, that they covered up, and that the persons on that ship allowed it to happen. . .

Yeah, I think that is THE DEFINITION of conspiracy nut

You can accept that without extraordinary evidence, puts you in nut category.
