But he doesn't say these things to Muslim nations where Shiites and Sunnis are killing each other and their Islamic schools and institutions are festering it. Think about that....

You mean like the following at Cairo University.

Among some Muslims, there is a disturbing tendency to measure one's own faith by the rejection of another's. The richness of religious diversity must be upheld — whether it is for Maronites in Lebanon or the Copts in Egypt. And fault lines must be closed among Muslims as well, as the divisions between Sunni and Shia have led to tragic violence, particularly in Iraq.

"if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs" is prejudiced - no, "extremely prejudiced" - against Catholic schools? This is downright amusing.

He also did not mention religious schools as being the cause in his Belfast speech.

Seemed like a pretty astute observation on his part.

Obama is a simpleton spouting simplistic platitudes.

As an American Protestant, I can attest the bombings of American Catholic schools ended in the 1970s.

Nick Cohen: Stop this drift into educational apartheid | Comment is free | The Observer

For all the praise given to them, just 5 per cent of Northern Ireland's pupils attend integrated schools today. As Philip O'Sullivan of the Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education put it, the overwhelming majority of Ulster's children can go from four to 18 without having a serious conversation with a member of a rival creed. They mingle only when they reach the workplace because, oddly, the religious discrimination on which the education system rests is illegal at work.
