I thought this was the entire premise of the AHCA? This iswhat it was sold on, right, to ensure insurance coverage of everyone?

CBO states that 30million + will be the norm.

Did you overlook that the number of uninsured decreases from 55M down to 31M?

Was it "sold" to us like that?

Who knows (or cares) how you chose to remember things. This is how it was actually "sold":

Quote:
This Act puts individuals, families and small business owners in control of their health care. It reduces premium costs for millions of working families and small businesses by providing hundreds of billions of dollars in tax relief – the largest middle class tax cut for health care in history. It also reduces what families will have to pay for health care by capping out-of-pocket expenses and requiring preventive care to be fully covered without any out-of-pocket expense. For Americans with insurance coverage who like what they have, they can keep it. Nothing in this act or anywhere in the bill forces anyone to change the insurance they have, period.

Americans without insurance coverage will be able to choose the insurance coverage that works best for them in a new open, competitive insurance market – the same insurance market that every member of Congress will be required to use for their insurance. The insurance exchange will pool buying power and give Americans new affordable choices of private insurance plans that have to compete for their business based on cost and quality. Small business owners will not only be able to choose insurance coverage through this exchange, but will receive a new tax credit to help offset the cost of covering their employees.

It keeps insurance companies honest by setting clear rules that rein in the worst insurance industry abuses. And it bans insurance companies from denying insurance coverage because of a person’s pre-existing medical conditions while giving consumers new power to appeal insurance company decisions that deny doctor ordered treatments covered by insurance.
One of the biggest sources of failure to comprehend this portion of the ACA is the corruption of measured statements into perverse extremes. For example, the words "reduces" several times, but folks who fail to understand the statements often can attribute their failure to reading the word "reduces" but thinking that they read the word "eliminates" or some other corruption of the word.

And, of course, no one officially presenting ACA for consideration ever promised that it would eliminate the uninsured completely. That's just made-up nonsense.

Kill the jobs and that traditional source of insurance just in time to stuff obamacare down our throats.

Obamacare should be repealed just because of the unethical way it was passed into legislation.

A trojan horse in the form of healthcare like clam chowder with no noticable chunks of clam.

Obamacare is as much of an illusion as was Obama's presidency.

Only the profoundly stupid could overlook the process that mandated obamacare and the words, " we have to pass it to find out what is in it". The streets should have been full of protest after hearing those words, no matter what piece of legislation involved. The media should have taken the lead to trumpet the outrageous behavior.

Obama was corrected when he said 46 mil uninsured and ammended his state, ment to 36 million to correct for illegal aliens which were not to be covered.

Obamacare is a hoax designed to introduce socialism. Numbers shmumbers it is all a holgram.

Really, it came from his own mouth:

Quote:
“My plan begins by covering every American. If you already have health
insurance, the only thing that will change for you under this plan is the amount
of money you will spend on premiums. That will be less,†Obama said in his May
2007 speech unveiling his health care plan.

“If you are one of the 45 million Americans who don’t have health insurance,
you will have it after this plan becomes law. No one will be turned away because
of a preexisting condition or illness,†Obama continued. “Everyone will be able
buy into a new health insurance plan that’s similar to the one that every
federal employee – from a postal worker in Iowa to a Congressman in Washington –
currently has for themselves.â€
So, either you are lying or just pusing typical leftist trash and don't care what facts are...

Or you're just choosing to ignore the qualifications, but go on ranting and raving and refusing to admit how you're corrupting the totality of what was presented by fixating on individual words. I'm done with you.

That's exactly how it was sold to us. We have a bunch of revisionists here constantly bending the truth by pretending Obama didn't say what he said or meant what he said.

AHCA as drafted was designed to fail. It's been falling apart at the seams with problem after problem and will end up hurting more Americans than it will help. Part-time coworkers in my office have had their hours cut due to the new laws. It's been happening to employees around the country. Only a few million new people will get access to health insurance through Obamacare and more drastic steps will need to be taken to make sure everyone has coverage.

That's when we'll see this evolve into single-payer, which is what the Democrats wanted in the first place. They realized they couldn't go straight to single-payer, so they developed this stepping stone that will fail and force us to move where they wanted us to go.
