And if the US version is sold a warning label is put on it.

Put Ralph Nader in charge of it.

One time in Louisville we had a freight car blow up on the track from the heat. It turned out that inside the freight car there was an ingredient used to make Coke. It flew all over everywhere, and hung on trees, this globby gooey mess. They brought guys in HAZ MAT suits to clean it up!

I'm no fan in general of processed foods and sugar drinks. Yet the fact that a European country would ban them (those countries wanted to ban wifi without evidence) . . .doesn't make me think they need/should be banned here

The story has no basis for concern, unless the cancer rate is higher in the United States than in Europe. So is it?

That's a very good question.

Here are rankings for cancer incidence by country for the top 10. (This is incidence not mortality.)

1 - Denmark 326 per 100,000 population
2 - Ireland 317 " "
3 - Australia 314
4 - New Zealand 309
5 - Belgium 307
6 - France 300
7 - U.S. A. 300
8 - Norway 299
9 - Canada 297
10 - Czech Republic 295

The lowest rates are countries like Serbia, Malta, Barbados, Armenia, Argentina, Romania with rates in the low 200's but I wonder how much of that is due to lack of proper diagnosis.

When you separate the statistics by sex, the numbers change up a bit, as you can see at this link.

Data for cancer frequency by country | WCRF

For men, France heads the list and the U.S. has the tenth highest cancer rate.

For women, Denmark heads the list and the U.S. has the 8th highest cancer rate and Canada the 7th.

I wonder what's going on in Denmark?

I looked up why Denmark is the cancer capital of the world and one article attributed the high rates of cancer to better detection (a good socialized healthcare system,) but also high rates of smoking and drinking, in both men and women.

The article also noted how more developed affluent countries have higher rates of cancer than less developed nations, and attributes this to higher rates of obesity, alcohol, and lack of exercise.

Why is Denmark the cancer capital of the world? - Telegraph

It seems that to reduce your risk of cancer, you'd be better off not drinking alcohol, not smoking, not being obese, and exercising rather than avoiding carcinogens in food.

More Americans need to wake up to the fact that our own government is slowly poisoning us to death.
