Does a 10-year immigrant count as an "American Person"? Defined as direct transfer of goods or money, not a red cent.

Raise your hand if you have never benefitted from a subsidy or welfare, American person.

Are you kidding? The big-govt fanatics have been cranking away for nearly eighty years. You can no more exist in this country without tripping over a govt handout, than you can without inhaling air pollution.

Why not ask:

Raise your hand if you would have been better off overall with govt never handing out any subsidies or welfare... and never charging you for them as a taxpayer.

And for extra credit, you can add:

...except for govt spending specifically authorized in the Constitution.

The government doesn't pay subsidies or welfare, we do.

I got a lunch subsidy in school but my parents paid for it through the property taxes they paid.

I can't. Had free lunch as a kid and also ate government cheese sandwiches when I was a kid.
Not to mention food or fuel subsidies.
The fact that most of us have is a very sad commentary on the state of our country.

You are still the one who pays. They say you owe the government $100, but if you have a mortgage, you have to pay only $95. Well, YOU are still the one who finances the real welfare for others.

I agree. The problem is the SCoUS has ruled almost any spending done by the govt. is somehow constitutional.

I was a foster kid from 15 to 18-1/2 years old due to severe abuse in my home, so I cannot make the claim that I never benefited from a government program.
