Flying drones in restaurants, lawsuits waiting to happen. Just waiting on touchpads and maybe automated serving carts to become so common that servers and waitstaff will be there to bring refills. Not holding my breath while waiting, or wishing it comes to that
This is Singapore. And the article doesn't even say if this is going to work. it's an idea they're toying with, at best.
I don't think it will catch on is most places in America. Certainly certain restaurant will adopt the idea, others will choose not to.
But what's more intriguing about this posts is your incessant need to go on about socialist practices, because a post that doesn't do that is a waste of a post!
Um, did you notice that this has nothing to do with minimum wage, and is actually due to a labor shortage?
(Singapore actually has no minimum wage at all.)
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Automation is going to obviate tons of jobs.
Half the conservative blowhards on here arguing that the high unemmployment rate reflects that most people are just a bunch of lazy bums/democrats are going to find themselves eating humble pie when computers are driving their trucks, operating their equipment, writing their code, and so on.
Can drones cook a well done burger? And put that with only a bun and ketchup?
