Sorry, but an atom does not have a "nuculous". I especially resent that members of the media went along with his mistake and are now pronouncing the word incorrectly. He is an idiotic buffoon.

Case in point:

" "More than two decades later, it is hard to imagine the Revolutionary War coming out any other way." --George W. Bush, Martinsburg, W. Va., July 4, 2007"

Someone should "learn" this boy the difference between a decade and a century.

""We spent a lot of time talking about Africa, as we should. Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease.""

Or the difference between a nation and a continent.

""If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator.""

Or what not to say in public.

I got these here

yes, but we who are not billionaires envy him Its like arguing with 7th graders.

A man leading this nation has a great deal to represent; sorry; I had pride in this country until Bush.

And no, I don't envy a former coke and alcoholic who had everything handed to him on a silver platter. I could not live with myself, knowing the deaths and world turmoil I have caused for the sake of making money.

So Art, you must reread my post. As I stated, religion kills. It is not only the positions ,that both Catholics and Protestants take, that alienates potential believers, it is the various interpretations that "religion" portends to impose upon disbelievers. There is only one interpretation, which is the one that speaks to you as an individual.Either of us could state emphatically and without much opposition, that most name brand religions distort and/or impart such stoic dependence upon adherence to the sect, as to alienate the seeker. I guess what I find worse than sad ,is that the errant pupil is heard louder than the teacher or, sadder yet, the errant pupil is so loud the teacher is not heard at all.
Simply stated, not one word of the teachings of "The New Testament" as presented are less than a presecription for social success. Any man that cannot except that is suspect of intelligence or simply hateful. So, men can bash Christians all they want but I have yet to be kidnapped by a church and forced to subscribe to their beliefs. So...really...Christian bashers should suspend the bashing. Especially those that will not hesitate to defend say...the Muslims... and turn right around and bash the Christians. In today's world Christians don't flog, beat, imprizon, kill, a woman for being raped by a neighbor when her brother, husband, walked out of the room. As the comparisons have evolved it is not even close, the examples go on and on. It is fifth century versus twenty first century. So as not to be accused of being off topic. This is why George Bush was the best president for our time.

Sorry. I got carried away with my contribution to this interesting conversation, even if it is all over the place. I admit that I was skimming your post, so I might have missed your point.

For the record, I'm not a Christian basher. My dad is a pastor and has been my entire life, and I love him dearly.

I do avoid dogma though. Dogma and proclaiming that "my way is the one true way" is what causes problems among a civilized and diverse society.

Absolutely nothing wrong with individual beliefs. I strongly support rights for each of us to study and practice any set of beliefs we desire, and even discuss them in a civilized manner, regardless of disagreements.

However when those personal beliefs begin to affect legislation, it's a problem, which is the point I was making about Bush supporting Intelligent Design. We may not be kidnapped by churches, but sometimes our laws are.

Fair enough. However, I believe the documentary being discussed lays out certain reasons why intelligent design is as reasonable as Darwinism and from a scientific perspective. They point out that the ingrediants for the cake are there but where is the oven to bake it? Sure, the oven may be a bolt of lightening, but where is the machinery of the cell. We could chicken and egg all night but the bottom line is the vastness of the universe dictates much more than the fossil record. Man is less than an ant in the scheme of things and yet he continually promotes himself as this gargantuan intelligent being on the end of the telescope and the microsope with no reasonable answer for anything he is seeing. It is so narcissic it is laughable.
The Darwinists and all the pseudointellectualism of the leftist university cults will never in our lifetime prove what they believe they know.
Why should creationists/God fearing people, believe in a rudderless philosophy of Darwinism/Athieism/Socialism when that sect can prove nothing and offer nothing except their own stoic model of intellectual narcissism.

www.mala.bc.ca/~johnstoi/essays/courtenay1.html (http://www.mala.bc.ca/~johnstoi/essays/courtenay1.html - broken link)

intelligent design has nothing to do with Anatomy and Origin. For anyone who ever bothered with scientific facts.

The scientific facts of anatomy and origin as explained by those that simply do not have any answers. "To know that you know what you know and to know that you do not know what you do not know is true knowledge".
I would be surprized if over half the people here don't have a degree in something or other,- as I do as well. It ain't like we don't all have some exposure to the Gods & Goddesses of the left construct. Class is out. They have no power here. No grades to give. Wit against wit. They can't win politically, socially, economically, philosophically, or even scientifically on the merit of state mandate. You,ll have to do better than slogans and the dogmas of your own social constructs to converse with an ole ignorant hillbilly like myself -Dream. Good night.

But first you must teach people to vote incumbants out of office. About 90% of the time the incumbants win.

Honestly I don't know why this thread has gone on for so long. We've had enough Bush bashing here to fill several forums of this size, this thread is hardly contributing to any important issue.
Closed.
