No, about 37% of female breadwinner households are married... the rest are single mothers that aren't competing with anyone. Female breadwinners make up 15% of married households. Higher educated women that can out earn their husbands are less likely to work though. Unfortunately, women that earn more than their husbands are less happy and more prone to divorce.

The income gap between the two groups is quite large. The median total family income of married mothers who earn more than their husbands was nearly $80,000 in 2011, well above the national median of $57,100 for all families with children, and nearly four times the $23,000 median for families led by a single mother.2

Lets just say there will be the Elite, and those under them who are there to serve them. And one more class of those who are not elite and refuse to serve either.

That last class will depend on their own savvy to make what happens for them happen. i am not so sure you can learn that skill set in a school, unless the school is street smarts. The street has a wide scope in this term as there will be no street.

It is pretty clear Obama wants his new 3rd world country, and he has 3.5 years to make it happen. This is not based on he wants anything good for the peasant class that will feed the elite either.

Yes, but it's pretty obvious that Obama doesn't give a damn about what it means that so few Americans are working and keeping the whole big mess propped up.

Fewer and fewer taxpayers with more and more welfare recipients is not good, it's not sustainable.

It appears to me as if they're dropping out of society altogether: Not working, not getting married, not raising kids.

The young single mom is the norm, now. This is why you see all these socialist women pushing for government-subsidized daycare and mandatory paternity/maternity leave --- without a man in the picture, they expect the rest of society to pay taxes to help them support their children.

So I know this is a thinly-veiled insult at young men who don't meet your personal standards of "adulthood" -- most angry older women have big opinions on this topic -- but the article is about the "participation rate" for men ages 25 to 54. The insurance law in question only applies until 26, so for the most part we are not talking about men on their parents' insurance plans.
They likely aren't husbands but a good number of them are fathers.

If they aren't working, they aren't paying taxes and they're not providing for their kids. Some women who hooked up with the dead beats are working and providing for the children but in too many cases, this is why we've got more kids growing up on government handouts.

Not working is also what gets them heading to prison, a male youth needs to occupy his time by working or many will end up in trouble. Girls might be able to find a man to support them, but not as many boys will find women who want to provide for them, but a youth of 18-30 years old is better off working and having something to do.

I believe we are one of the few cultures to separate generations into separate houses and many of our societal problems may be created by this practice.
The nuclear family was also what led to the strong and prosperous middle class where people had upward mobility and required decent wages.

The problem with third world nations is that wages can be very very low because housing is very affordable when you don't need to come up with rent or mortage and adult children are happy remaining in their parents home and at best getting one bedroom to live as a family.

In these multi-generation homes, you'll find 12 or more adults and 20 or more children -- teenagers sleep in the living room on the floor, or on couches and chairs if they can claim them. Each adult child might have a bedroom for his/her children and significant other. By pooling their little part time incomes with the grandparent's disability check and housing vouchers, they can make ends meet pretty well.

People in these living arrangements can lay around all day, they don't need much income at all, wages can drop accordingly. Just go on living in the same house grandma raised her children in, you won't need much income at all.

It must kill you to see a woman drive by in a BMW.

On her way to her parking space with her name on it. Then she'll go up to the boardroom where she'll tell some young guy to get her a cup of coffee before her meeting starts.

You can always tell the guys who have NO idea this is the 21st century and that women are capable of not only being the boss but.... bad news for those guys... enjoying it.

Men are disappearing from the workforce - Jun. 19, 2013

In the 1950s, nearly every man in his prime working years was in the labor force, a category that includes both those who are employed and those actively applying for jobs. The "participation rate" for men ages 25 to 54 stood at 97.7% in early 1956, but drifted downward to a post-war record low of 88.4% at the end of 2012.

"The proportion of guys doing nothing has risen," said Gary Burtless, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

The decline of men in the labor force has broad implications for families, taxpayers and the economy. Fewer employed men means more people on the dole and fewer taxpayers to contribute to the nation's economic growth.
Sounds good to me. Time to quit expecting men to foot the bill for everything.

Once a woman in a BMW pulled up along side a bike i was test driving and told me to remove the BMW roundels off the gas tank! Then she said everyone know BMW doesn't build bikes!

Light changed, i have no idea what she said after that as i was gone.

Perhaps more along the line of your thinking, I suffered a city slick with e beemer that wasn't interested in making any appointment. I had a 3 weeks back logs and so he insisted to waste my time, telling me about his metropolitan impotence, making mention of Ft Lauderdale.

I told him that is a distance of around 1,500 miles and has nothing to do with me or my shop.

He could make an appointment or he could go to Boston. Still not satisfied he swore at me and so i told him to just get out and he would never make any appointment and to seal the deal i told him to tell his 10 best friends.

Next day that BMW came back with a different driver. I asked that guy to see his new bill of sale.

I never saw that car again...

Its isn't us women's fault some men just want to lay around and be lazy.

It has nothing to do with not enough jobs, men in prison, etc

Its just that men don't want to get up off their asses, get an education, and work.
Personal responsibility.
