Then in reality, they shouldnt be there. Family reactions seen by the jurors shouldnt be allowed. Emotions should be out of it. Its not about emotion, its about the state trying to prove their case
How do you propose to have a trial involving people that is totally with emotion?

That's why Judge Nelson reiterated the court's policy about emotional outbursts. She hadn't observed Tracy making any such outbursts, yet the defense is trying to paint him as prone to such to get him out.
I thought I heard it mentioned that they are on the witness list.
I guess Martin's father is not going to be a witness because he's been in the courtroom. Just trying to put pieces together about what happened because I missed it on TV, but seems like maybe defense made a motion to remove Martin's father from the courtroom because he was crying and that would influence the jury. I'm also guessing that the Judge denied that motion?

In regards to fair trials, having family members cry in court room really doesnt help. IMO, too good of a chance a juror is moved and affected by it, thus affecting their decision.

Well, I've certainly seen family members of victims filling up rows of seats in trials in the past......most recently was the Jodi Arius trial. Remember the victim's sister crying?? It's the way it works.

Okay so what if they get on the stand and cry?
People are emotional. Its the job of the jury to look beyond the emotion.
Trayvon's parents are allowed to stay even though they are on the witness list. Because they're family of the VICTIM!
I don't think any potential witnesses should be allowed, but victim families can stay to represent the victim.
Well, Dale, you are right about family members of the victim being allowed to stay in the courtroom.
