You need to read Florida statutes 776.013, 782.02, 776.041, and 776.032. It's not as simple as you imply.

Yeah you can, but usually you're being threatened with something worse than skittles.

I don't need to read nothing. If you had read the post I made a few back you would know I have lived it. Don't lecture me on what the law allows. Again it is your poor understanding, not mine.

Based on testimony today, it seems the threat to Zimmerman came from Martin beating him up. This was the first witness that was able to identify who was who in the fight. There was the woman before that realized after the fact as she claimed but it was pretty bad testimony (saying you realized one was bigger than the other after watching the news??). If I were on the jury right now and had to decide the case right now, I would say that there is more than reasonable doubt in this case.

Yes, I think they want to open the door to Zimmerman's record of past bad acts for which he was arrested due to violent situations of his fighting.

No, John Good did NOT open the door on Trayvon's past with his perception of the MMA punches. I saw a small snippet of his testimony on TV tonight about that very subject. Good was asked how familiar with MMA fighting, had he taken classes, watcched in on TV a lot. He said no. After it was HIS perception that Martin was hitting Zimmerman like that, but there is NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE to support that perception, NONE. Also Good said that, no, he could not 100% confirm that Trayvon was throwing MMA punches.

You are incorrect again if you think that someone's testimony or question which opens up Zimmerman's past in terms of reputation and character OPENS THE DOOR TO THAT SUBJECT FOR MARTIN. The type of thing that could open the door to Martin's past (character/reputation) would be if someone were asked questions about Martin's reputation and some witness started testifying about what a good kid he was.

Zimerman's reputation/character is ONE ISSUE. Martin's reputation/character is ONE ISSUE. They do NOT overlap.

The thing is, John Good thought the guy on top had a dark jacket. He also saw the view of the fight only from the SIDE.

Zimmerman's jacket has a lot of dark trim, especially when viewed from the side. I can't believe the prosecution hasn't pointed that out.

Red looks dark in little light, it washes the red out. But John Good said the guy on the bottom had a white or red jacket. White or red? They look totally different in the dark. Again, I wish the prosecution had pinned him down about that.

On the other hand, Trayvon's grey hoodie is not that dark, it is paler then the dark grey trim on Zimmerman's jacket.

The orange jacket looks a lot lighter to me. In the dark, I think the hoodie would look black vice gray though.
