Yes, but it's not that common now that we have DNA testing available. CA had to release a bunch of people convicted of rape after DNA testing exonerated them.
Just because a man denies it doesn't mean it didn't happen. "He said she said" is the most difficult part of prosecution. And don't forget rapists can use condoms. It's very complicated.
There's no "physical evidence" requirement in any US jurisdiction for a sexual assault prosecution. People do get convicted on the basis of testimony alone, and sometimes those convictions turn out to be wrongful. It's unfortunate.
lol, no - but let's say you were drunk, had 'consensual' and then the next day the girl said you raped - how could that be sorted out?
