Obama promised in 2008 to reduce earmarks to 1994 levels - by veto if necessary. George W. Bush was "irresponsible" for letting earmarks rise. Tough words from him, while his supporters chanted "Yes We can" agreeing and even fainting.

Since then, earmarks have risen...they even rose during his 1st 2 years in office with Democrats in control of the House and Senate.

Obama, after 4 and a half years we ask that you attempt to fulfill your promise to lower earmarks...and stop allowing them to increase. At least lower them back to George W. Bush levels if not your stated 1994 levels.

Obama, you said by veto if necessary.

Obama, you said that you would go line by line through the budget and bills to stop this.

Fulfill your promise, Mr. President, Sir.

Tell the Senate that there are too many earmarks in the Immigration Bill and ask them to take out the earmarks. If earmarks were irresponsible under Bush and needed to be reduced, then why is it okay for them to continually increase under you?

He promised that 4.5 years ago. It didn't happen during his first term and people didn't seem to care.
Why care now ?

I say load all bills full of pork. The more we spend that we don't have the faster this can come crashing down and open some eyes in DC to what's really going on.

PolitiFact | The Obameter: Reduce earmarks to 1994 levels
Money is earmarked to build the border fence, increase border patrol agents, and increase surveillance technology at the border. Should those earmarks be taken out of the bill?

Those with ODS tend to spend their days completely thinking about Obama. It's quite strange.

Those relate to the purpose of the bill. Obama specifically promised to reduce earmarks that have nothing to do with the purpose of the bill.

You know this. You must be obfuscating to cover for Obama's broken promises.

Stop making excuses for and hold him accountable.

Obama said that he would reduce earmarks.

This bill is full of earmarks.

Obama, as he said, can tell the Senate to take out the earmarks or veto if necessary to get them out.

I see, instead of admit that the demigod Obama is breaking a promise, attack the person who factually points it out. Do you at least have knee pads for your Obama worship?

It was a foolish promise. Nobody is going to give up earmarks.

Obama has kept promises, compromised on promises, ignored promises, and broken promises. I have no vested interest or care in all things Obama. I agree with him on some issues and disagree with him on others.

What's the point in spending all that money when most illegals aren't coming in by walking through the desert and billions more are spent rewarding illegals with free health care, especially free maternity unit visits and then all kinds of financial rewards for having babies here plus the free pass around the immigration laws if they give birth here?

It would be far better to stop rewarding them so highly and prosecute those who hire illegals over Americans.
