and what's the matter with police selling buyback guns? for profit?
I think it's a good thing because they are going to law Abiding citizens. Many liberals are upset about this though because they thought the guns were going to be destroyed!
Most people believe that buyback firearms are destroyed. To find out that they are giving you 50 bucks for your firearm, then turning around and selling it for 300 might tick off a few people.

To some extent, sure. But these programs provide a way to get rid of crime guns, no questions asked. And get some money for it to boot. I have to wonder how many stolen firearms are turned in during these programs.

These programs are touted as a reason to get guns off the street, putting them back into circulation defeats the purpose however ridiculous it is. Suppose you're an anti gun advocate and come into possession of a gun though inheritance, you expect it to be destroyed if you turn it in...
How could it be a hoax if they've run the serial number and it doesn't come back as stolen or used in a crime?
Hopefully, you do know that a lot of property confiscated by P.D.'s is sold at auctions if the rightful owner/s never come forward to claim it, right?
Why would liburuls be outraged? Is that what you believe?
Um, they would be outraged because the entire point of a buyback is to get guns off of the streets.
This obliterates that.
