Why aren't Americans saving more?

Is it possible that with all the safety nets available, there is no need to fear something not going to plan?

More than double.
Yep, and families are only a fraction of the size they were when the houses were much smaller.

Nowadays, these idiots want two extra bedrooms for an office and "guests"...and they probably have a guest over for a few nights once a year.

Everyone needs 3 car garages, entertainment rooms, kitchens the size of a living room, vaunted ceilings, and all kinds of other crap that adds unnecessarily to the expense.

Then they complain about the cost of living.

My inlaws- empty nesters had to buy a house that was larger than the one they had with kids.

Its mind boggling. and my father in Law still has to work for income.

Then they wonder why they are not retired.

You're so naive if you think that simply voting for the other guy would have changed anything. The country goes (R) and (D) back and forth all the time and this changes nothing, the country is only getting worse.

You're right. Real average wages have not increased in nearly half a century.

They bought a BIGGER HOUSE despite being empty nesters?

Damn...unreal. Yet you see stuff like this all the time.

You oughta see my neighbors with Harleys that they ride once a month, boats and other PWC's that get used once a year, 50k pickups (for hauling groceries mostly)...etc..

I can't help but to laugh at some of this sh*t.

Yeah, sure buddy. Whatever you say.

If the other guys were doing such a great job, why didn't they hold the House and Senate?

Yes granted it was equal in price to their home because it is in a less edesireable location but this wa sa chance for them to cash out on their equity and put it towards retirement.

The craziest part is - they want to put on an addition!
