Right, hypocrisy. The Supreme Court ruled one way in Dred Scott and another way in Brown v. Board of Ed. Hypocrisy!!!

I wouldn't say more culpable, I just find it funny that people don't know whom signed NAFTA which really hurt the private unions and blue collar light manufacturing jobs in the US. Kerry, Kennedy, Biden just to name 3 more....

Clinton spent most of the 2nd term of his presidency doing what the republicans told him to do.

Oh, except that last day in office pardon of billionaire tax dodger Marc Rich after his wife gave millions in campaign contributions. But no worries there, she reliquished her US citizenship last year and moved overseas to save tens of millions in taxes.

Unbelievable. even when the golden boy Bill Clinton (the liberals version of Reagan) puts his John Hancock on a discriminatory bill that gets overturned by the SCOTUS--somehow, some way on some planet the liberals have an excuse to blame the GOP. Why aren't they just taking ownership that a bill that they signed into law has been deemed unconstitutional? Why isn't that fact making headlines?

True, although the fact remains that the politicians who have changed the stance on DOMA are mostly democrat.

I'm a liberal and I blame Clinton. It may have been a cynical bit of election-year politics, but he signed it; the buck stops here. So there you have it.

Bill Clinton like the gambler in the Kenny Rdgers song, knew when to fold'em, knew when to hold'em and knew when to runaway. Clinton had didn't want to throw more gasoline on the culture wars and play into the GOP's trap.

Obama is the liberal Reagan, not Clinton. Reagan fundamentally changed American politics and the course of history. Clinton pretty much continued the legacy of the Reagan era.

As for DOMA, the 90s were a very different time. Most people in this board were probably in grade school when DOMA passed if not still toddlers. Think about today's 50 year olds in both parties and what they think about gay marriage. That was mainstream back then.
