How about his? Is this a sarcastic remark?
I have an associate who documents these, and passes them on.

Are you simply painfully unaware of what a threat is? If the quoted post had said "I'm sick of these politicians; I'm going to stalk and shoot each one.", it would definitely be a direct threat.

The types of posts saying Obama should be in jail or hung are clearly just people venting their displeasure at some of the recently revealed activities of the central government.

Also, your "associate" needs to get a f---ing life.

There was no assault here verbally or otherwise. Just because you may not like the idea of someone else's joke does not mean they should be arrested.

why would anyone threaten physical violence on a politician? they are all a bunch of human highlight reels of failure, and eventually they'll die of natural causes. well, that, or they'll die of embarrassment. I'm kidding. these people have no shame.

That is an understandable over reaction to the mess we are learning that our government is in. These sorts of statement have been made forever.

I can just imagine some busy body on the internet today would want someone arrested over this statement.

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. When you give up that force, you are ruined."

I'd say he was attempting to be sardonic, not sarcastic. and I, was just being patronizing.
