Right to work anyone? Employment at Will?

This kind of hatchet man relationship is what YOU have created.
Although I disagree with you as far as sentence one goes, the rest is SPOT ON!

I was waiting for that to be mentioned. Thanks!

Conservatives crying about a business decision in a situation where they created the opportunity to fire someone at the drop of a hat is richer than a Paula Deen casserole.

Gotta love this Fox spin. I wonder if Karl Rove is throwing a tantrum? Paula Deen's show ratings down before Food Network dismissal | Fox News

She needs to fire her PR/crisis management team. I believe her recent rounds of television interviews sped up her demise with those who matter - her corporate sponsors. Job Creators.

I believe her FN show was losing viewers long before this.
Please. It is the Left who demand that everybody be perfect like they are (NOT), or who do not believe as they do, be punished.

As was pointed out in the article I cited, a similar attempt to shut down Chick-Fil-A was conducted (unsuccessfully, thank God) by the Left.

I think people are more concerned with the double standard. how can she get fired, while al sharpton finds work?

She is a very ordinary woman who has overcome the very sorts of obstacles which leftists prattle endlessly about overcoming: a poor and uneducated woman who got out of a bad marriage and, on her own, became a success."
Bruce excoriates the Left and Food Network sock puppets for their hypocritical "political correctness," and for allowing this leftist disease to metastisize and enter into an area such as cooking and enjoyment of good food, which should be an area that brings people together.

He reports that Paula Deen fans are pushing back.

BRAVO! Great job, Bruce! Well said!
Typical crap from conservatives, never able to tell the truth. Deen is in trouble because her network and sponsors don't want to be associated with what she said.

Al Sharpton isn't being sponsored by Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc - places that need our (the American Public) goodwill.

I'm not saying Target et al were right - but as employers, that is their right, no?

Didn't I see a thread on here that a business owner should be able to fire anyone for any reason, no matter how small? Which conservatives defended.

I have zero problem with her losing endorsements, etc. however al sharpton is sponsored by target, wal mart, and anyone else that advertises on MSNBC. he has a history of going on racial tirades. herein lies the double standard.

This isn't just about political correctness or the use of the n-word. If the allegations are to be believed, it has to do with corporations distancing themselves from a brand and its owner who let various abuses continue in the work place.
this ^^

it is not about rappers or anyone else that have used in the past or continues to use racially bigoted words. this is about paula and how she treats people who work for her and her attitude towards others.

it was not 20 or 30 years ago it is as recent as 2007 when she thought a slave style plantation wedding would be a grand idea. look at youtube and you will find paula calling her black friend, "black as a board". telling him to come out from the black board because she can't see him. calling people at work her little monkeys. saying she doesn't know what jokes will offend people is a cop out. all of this is bigotry.

saying dumb things towards people about the color of their skin even without the intent of hurting them is still bigotry. ignorance of the law is no excuse and neither is the ignorance of thinking you can talk like that and not be considered a racist. the woman should of known better more than 30 years ago. as she said in her interview on the today show, where not only did she not say she was sorry, she added "I is what I is and I am not changing".

She is blind and too stupid to see herself and her actions for what they are.

doing nothing to stop your brother from watching porn at work with others present. making an obscene gesture with pastry, admitting to making sexual jokes at work, all show a lack of consideration for other people.

Paula in these cases is not a private citizen but a spokesperson for national brands on tv, you can't be oblivious to how you should act.

she is paying a dear price for her overall lack of comprehension. I almost feel sorry for her

All this article says to me is "conservatives" (I doubt that writer speaks for all of them) are willing to fight to the death for the unmitigated use of their beloved N word. Paula Deen is not losing money because she used the word. Her business partners see her as a dumb southerner and a risk. That old timey, down home stuff is pretty marketable until you bump it up a notch and use the plantation as a back drop. That’s why she is dumb or her handlers are dumb.

Prediction: There will be a new old timey, down home, PC southern cook on the scene to replace her shortly. Resumes are being read as we speak.

I'm betting that Paula Deen pays a huge amount in Federal Taxes, which pay for Leftist excesses (the money that gets redistributed to Leftist "causes").

Your ignorance about wealth and poverty, how jobs are created and what drives an economy, is astounding, yet, sadly, typical. You represent everything that is wrong in America today. Ignorance is destroying us.

I have never in my life worked at any company where there is no loyalty between Employer and Employee. That must occur only between Union employees and employers, and that would be understandable, since Union people are only loyal to the Union. They have an adversarial relationship with their employers.
