3 Christian men, one of them Catholic bishop were filmed and beheaded in front of a crowd with even children in a predominately Christian region in northern Syria near Turkish border. Video is graphic. They use kitchen knife and scream "Allahu Akbar". Two other Orthodox bishops have been kidnapped over a month ago and still not released.
Why does Islam allow this, especially in 21st century?
No, it's not. It's a perverted version of it. Christians used to behead and other awful things in the name of religion too, but it didn't mean Christianity is f'd up, it meant the people interpreting it at that place and time were.
There are probably people in other parts of the world showing videos of that extreme Christian group here that pickets solidier's funerals, and saying "Here's that religion of tolerance they love to talk about".

Pickets soldiers funerals versus beheading religious leaders. Those are totally on equal footing.

I never said they were equal and of course I don't think they are. My point was if you seek to paint a religion in a certain light, it is easy to find examples to support your view, but it doesn't make it accurate in defining the entire religion.

It is not a perversion. It is an example of religious fundamentalists putting into action what is instructed in a holy book. American fundamentalist Christians would do the same, taking the Old Testament literally, if our culture did not frown upon such behavior and encourage the religious to pick and choose which passages of the Bible to follow and which to ignore. The difference is that many Islamic cultures in the Middle East are still stuck in the Middle Ages and tolerate such barbarism.
To equate what the Westboro Church does with murder is silly and undercuts the effort to discredit both savage Islamic fundamentalism and Christian fundamentalist nuttery in the United States.
