Seven reasons Obamacare’s employer mandate delay is a huge deal

While I agree with her points, in total, they show big government solutions simply don't work.

That's the main take-away from Obamacare and, indeed, the entire failed Obama presidency.

Democrats have the demographic advantage in national elections, no question, but they can't get around this basic problem: their policies don't work, and in fact, their solutions do more harm than good.

It's too late to defeat Obama at the ballot box, but I wouldn't want to be a dem up for office in a contested district in 2014 or Obama's successor in 2016, demographics be damned.

We see big government solutions all over America. And all are running way over cost and getting deeper into debt.
But it seems we don't care. The majority want government to take care of them at any cost.

The main reason is that Republicans would have flooded airwaves with ads talking about the increased costs to businesses during the mid-term elections. Now those costs won't hit until 3 months after the elections are over. It was a purely political move.

Its exactly why Obamacare was delayed until after Obamas re-election as well.

There will be another financial crisis before 2016 with or without the employer mandate.

zoning is a government solution which costs homeowners nothing, and even redistributes income and wealth from renters to homeowners. yes, the majority want government to take care of them but sometimes people can enjoy the benefits at no cost to them.

Obamacare has been a mess to implement. CMS kept coming out with new proposed rules, new interim rules, new interim final rules, bulletins, and other confusing guidance. The businesses had no idea what to expect or how to plan. Even today, it's not clear what many businesses need to do. I'm not surprised they pushed this back. Obamacare has been a disaster from the start.

Yes, everything is a political calculation with this bunch. This law wasn't even designed to fix any problems with healthcare--it was sold as such, but it's just a payoff to political cronies.

I'm tempted to buy you a house just to shut you up on this topic, but you would probably ***** about the property taxes and the maintenance costs.

Um..NO.

It would not have been Republicans on the airwaves influencing them.
It would have been the direct payroll hit each and every month from Jan 2014 until elections.

Sure it was political but not because of what Republicans "might have said".
It was political because the financial hit to companies would directly be blamed on the Democrats who voted Obamacare into Law.

The Repubs would just be saying "I told ya so" and they would be right.

And the Dems are distancing themselves from this and now saying "But this is not what we expected".
Well if you didn't read the bill then just what did you expect ? You passed it and now say "But..but.." ?
They can't blame the Repubs for this one so their only alternative is to push it down the road for another day. But 2015 is too close to 2016 Presidential elections. What to do....why push it off again until 2017.

Big business gets a free pass while taxpayers face the wrath and end up paying corporate's "fair share" from their own wallet.

Are you happy Dems ?
