OMG, you say the GOP hates America, how many of them, including the Tea Party do you see protesting for starters. I would like to think, most Americans love our country, but if their are those who do not, they certainly are not the Republicans. If you think differently you might want to give us examples of the right wing hating America? What real conservatism are you talking about and why are you even suggesting the GOPs are racists in anyway? Again, give some examples instead of making blanket statements.

Let me also inform you, if you don't already know this: Reagan regretted the passage of the Amnesty bill later on. And at least he was honest enough to admit it was a huge mistake...BTW, you want to tell us the GOPs are all racists and hate America, then you tell us about those in the party that support or did support Amnesty, aren't you talking out of both sides of your mouth?

Could it be that the current GOP isn't actually "radically right wing" as much as the rest of American politics has drifted so far towards the lunatic PC-left that it makes the centrist, ever-so-slightly nativist GOP policies that would be considered common sense in any other country seem 'radical'?

If you are truly interested in libertarian policies you should be concerned about minimizing the welfare state. To achieve this you need a moral, educated, self-governing population, not a mishmash of single mothers, poor immigrants and male social libertines.
I have always found it strange that liberals seem to be fond of Ike. He was President during the peak of social conservatism and outspoken religion in the 1950s. I don't think many of today's social justice issues would have went over very well in those times.

The arrival of President Barack Obama not only signaled the end of bin Laden, but the beginning of the end of the GOP. The GOP doesn't belong in this country as a major political party. It is an ideology that wants to preserve the hierarchy that emerged from Slavery, where whites are on top and everyone else has subservient roles. It wants to preserve the "unearned privilege." It knows nothing about effectively running an economy, except to benefit ONLY the rich. It promotes the intrusion and invasion of sovereign nations who pose no imminent threat simply to "spread democracy." It is OK with a President who LIES to justify war, sending thousands to their death for unjustified reasons. It is a mindset that is clueless about other cultures, assuming for instance that those cultures are inferior or simplistic enough to be changed by a simple "shock and awe" display of military might. Shameful.

The GOP stared at the health care crisis for 8 years and did nothing. While trying to nation-build abroad, the rich were enjoying unprecedented gains here at home. CEO pay and executive perks went through the roof while workers struggled to make ends meet before they were displaced by cheaper foreign labor. Under GOP control, every domestic category went into crisis mode, and foreign policy was Neanderthal diplomacy at its worse. The GOP has been a WMD and continues to hurt the progression of this country.

If anything, the younger generation signals the end of the shameful GOP. Ron Paul continues to be a laughable political figure.
Ron Paul has been the one Republican who has been at odds with what most Republicans stand for.

He is anti-war and was from the beginning. He wants to shut down the military industrial complex. He is against the Patriot Act. He is pro legalizing marijuana. He wants to get the government OUT of marriage completely, ending the gay marriage debate permanently. You can look at his stances from one issue to the next to the next. He is for real LIBERTY for all. He is not your typical Republican which is why Ron Paul resonated so much with the younger generation, a generation that has rejected the typical GOP candidate completely.

So young people: Are you going to continue to vote away your liberty and future for the sake of social justice issues (Democrats) or are you going to nominate a candidate who will bring real, positive change to this country?

Ron Paul didn't do better in the primaries because people didn't put their money where their mouth was and stayed hope on their states' GOP primary election day. It's mostly religious conservatives and tea party types that control the GOP primary, which is why candidates have to pander to them to make it through the process.

They are only fond of him because he is the last Republican they can even remotely support. And remember, most of our liberals friends here, were not even born when he was President. I am probably about the oldest person on these posts and I barely remember him. You have Nixon: not a bad President at all, but a crook as they say: then you have Ford who was a heck of a nice guy, but just a window dressing to get us throw a few years. Followed by Reagan who they hate because the American people love him so much. That is why they speak of Eisenhower.

And you wonder why Republicans seem out of touch. "they hate because the American people love him so much"? Really? How insulting. It couldn't possibly because he tripled the federal deficit? Funneled weapons into Iran and supported dictatorships in Latin America? Some of the first "sanctuary cities" were created in the 80s to help people fleeing from Central American countries where US backed paramilitary groups were destroying villages. And how can you think well of a man who supported the junta in Argentina's Dirty War? The Miami News - Google News Archive Search College students and young people whose only crime was being to the left were shoved out of planes, naked and drugged, over the Atlantic Ocean to their deaths. Tens of thousands more were held in concentration camps and many did not make it out - the disappeared. Pregnant women were killed and their children given to government officials. All of this, Reagan and his government were complicit with. It was no secret... my parents protested against what was going on. A disproportionate amount of those killed were Jewish. What did you do about it, since you were an adult with a responsibility to take action?

A little more on Reagan's connection to the Dirty War can be found at Reagan and Argentina’s Dirty War | Consortiumnews, which pales in comparison to his actions in the Middle East and Central America.

Yes, Reagan. "Loved by the American people." These same American people also often claim to be pro-life. Hah.

The GOP loves illegals with a passion. For all the jobs they can't offshore to China, they hire the illegals to do it.

The GOP thinks it's perfectly fine to crap all over the constitution to pass huge government bills like the patriot act, which spends millions and millions of dollars to put surveillance, tanks, weapons,..to watch over the american people and violate their rights, all in the name of "safety"

When it comes to passing amnesty, skyrocketing the debt, giving billion and billions of dollars in taxpayer funds to their corporate cronies, and leading to a fascist takeover of the nation, it's the GOP.

If you are a supposed "constitutionalist", the GOP would be your most hated group.

When you don't have facts, play the race card.

The problem is people like you who think government can run the economy. Were you in a coma when we had the government made dot com bubble or the government made housing bubble? How did those work out?

Our military is in more countries than ever before. The President controls troop movements and can bring them home, yet doesn't. Obama lied about getting our troops out of Afghanistan right away. At last count 175 Pakistani children have been killed by drones since he took office. How does it feel to be the person who loaded the bullets for Obama to murder those children?

Only the uninformed would not know government is the reason for the high cost of health care.

Lowest percentage of people in the workforce in 30 years. Those on food stamps and other government assistance are at an all time high. Way to go big government.

The only Presidential candidate who told us to expect a 9/11 type attack because our foreign policy, which Obama continues, makes us less safe and he was right.
The only Presidential candidate who told us to expect a housing crash and horrible economic times when Congress manipulated the free market in housing and he was right.

But keep backing destructive big government and getting your rocks off on killing innocent people in the Middle East if it makes you happy.
Great post. The far left has gone as far off the deep end as the far right has. What is especially funny is when they attack the Reps ( Bush jr ) or Dems ( Obama ) they are basically attacking themselves as anyone with a REMOTE clue and a once of integrity knows and will say Obama and Bush Jr are basically twins in how they have governed. In sort the fringers ( my word )of both parties need to zip it.

Reagan was loved by the American people. However, his legacy has been somewhat tarnished by today's GOP continually invoking him, being he was the last Republican President who was genuinely popular. We have to remember Reagan presided over a much different America and was a member of a much different GOP.

For the GOP to win over younger voters they need to support gay marriage, become pro-choice, and accept scientific data. This development won't happen until the GOP start losing even more elections.
