Less than 2% of employed people. That is a lot of people, but I wouldn't call it "major" part. In fact the Dems and Repubs think it should not be there as it is now. But you have the nut job controlled House that refuses to legislate a fix.

How much US taxpayer money was wasted on these totally symbolic "messages to the folks back home", considering that the lowliest Member of Congress gets $174,000 per year?

But President Obama, in delaying one part of the Affordable Care Act in order to simplify reporting procedures that businesses will be using as well as to provide additional time for businesses to prepare to comply with the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, is playing politics?
We started enforcing a no texting law here. It was passed a year ago but there was a year grace period to get the information out and allow people understand it will now be illegal. Someone from the state police was quoted as saying that people have had a year to get used to this.

Obamacare passed over 3 years ago. Businesses still need time to comply? Is it that complicated? If so, seems like another valid reason for what the House has been trying to do. I fully expect the individual portion to get delayed until after the 2014 elections also.

On the one hand, you have Congress continuing to play their games and waste our money, and on the other hand you have the President delaying part of the Affordable Care Act so that businesses - not the government - will be better prepared to comply with the law .... and the President is playing politics with our health care?? Yikes.
The House is doing what the majority of people say they want.

More Americans oppose Obamacare than ever before

Just 37% of Americans said they supported the bill.

Serious........giving more breaks to big business over individuals is something you support?

Until Wed night there was no problem. Yet you think the Repubs are holding up a fix ?
The Treasury said they had a problem, not that there was a problem with the law.

Your paycheck already has the amount taken out for insurance.
The company has the amount they pay as well.

The information is already there. It's a matter of adding that figure to the W-2's printed out in a new box that the IRS/Treasury need to provide.

It's like pulling data out of a database that you already have and adding it to a new report.
Shouldn't take 4 years to implement since most companies outsource their payroll to a handful of companies. The payroll industry say they are ready.

Yes, I realize this has nothing to do with any real problems employers are facing as far as implementation goes.

I just enjoy reading the mental gymnastics people go through to try and explain why the excuses the administration gives aren't total B.S.

Obama had just been talking up this provision. Never has he said this provision needs to be replaced or "fixed" as you say. Because Obama doesn't think that it needs to be fixed. Think for yourself - you have your own brain. WAKE UP.

Obama is saying that 4 years was not enough time to prepare for it and they need a 5th year. If this provision was "broken" don't you think you would have heard Obama or a Democrat propose a solution by now?

By God man, don't you think you would have at least heard Obama or other high ranking Democrats say that this provision was broken before - if that were the case? Florida.Bob Think for a change - you never do that with Obama...think. The only reason this is an issue is because of the 2014 midterms.

Where is Obama on this matter? Is he out there explaining this to the public? Or is he telling a low level staffer to break the news before a holiday on an obscure blog? Is this kind of "leadership" acceptable to you?

Oh yea.. you mean republicans won't give Obama their blind support like Obama supporters. And just like with the IRS scandal don't ask question either, Obama and the left bounce off walls.

When you have the power to make oceans recede at the sound of your voice suspending tax collections is such a minor matter.

Nice to see a British company that has been used for Defense Dept work has been awarded up to a 1.2 billion dollar contract to verify Obamacare eligibility. Don't want them to be a victim of sequestration, so slide 'em over to healthcare, even though they have no experience setting up or running a program like this.
