It is a sad day in US history when a sitting POTUS seems to support radical Islamic fundamentalist governments and "takes no position" on a popular uprising to unseat a tyrant.

I wonder who Obama will "install" in Syria"? Another member of the Muslim Brotherhood
Whoever the House of Saud tells him to install.

I can understand the hatred aimed at our leadership here in the usa...they hate Obama. Can you blame them after we helped the radical Muslim Brotherhood gain power and then called and congratulated Morsi? What a fantastic job O has done in improving the US's relationships around the world....pfttttt

The military has taken over the Al Jazeera offices and arrested people. So much for freedom of the press.

The side of self determination. Pretty much the same side he's on now.

First, wouldn't you first have to actually show where I have either flipped or flopped?

And second, if you can't adjust when the circumstances demand it, then you're probably too stupid or dangerous to be put in a position of power.

If you have any illusions that the Egyptian military did not know that they had Obama's tacit support, then you're probably not among the more savvy members of this forum.

That can only be because like so many unsubtle people who cannot think more than one or two steps ahead, you are unaware that world events are not generally influenced by screaming on a bullhorn.

You don't need freedom of the press at this moment. You need to get the gangsters out of office who hide behind the veneer of faith and dogma that can be manipulated. The people want the Brotherhood gone...Not all military coups are evil. I just hope that the officers in charge are loyal to the citizens of Egypt. Think of it...no matter what a devout Muslim you are - You will never fully except the beheading or hanging of another human being under the pretense and justification of offending GOD...Logic dictates God can not be offended...I say- get the bastards out of there..

Would Americans tolerate a government supposedly sanctioned by GOD? Of course not...because it it impossible to speak on behalf of the all mighty..Egypt will do well- They have lasted for 6 thousand years..this is just a blip in their history.

“We believe in the importance of the new Egyptian government upholding universal values, and respecting the rights of all Egyptian citizens – including women and religious minorities such as Coptic Christians,” he said, adding “the new Egyptian government has both the legitimacy and responsibility of representing a diverse and courageous citizenry.”

See how well they upheld those values ?
Did the US speak out even once when the Christians were murdered ?

Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi who wanted Sharia law. It appears the people of Egypt don't want Sharia law. There were a lot of anti-Obama signs too so they don't much like Obama either.

This remains none of our business. The only matter of concern to Americans is whether the name of the deposed president is spelled with an "i" or a "y". Who really knows?
