shouldn't you be holding a protest at the state capitol building protesting 2011 wisconsin act 10? kinda sucks when government mingles in your health care doesn't it?
I would guess it is because 300M+ Americans would rather be ruled over by a group representing .0001% of the total population rather than making decisions for themselves (i.e. most people are born followers, and have a dismal intellect to match).

Most people who have served in the military, such as myself don't worry about healthcare, or much else.
They can't see past Democrat or Republican so not siding with either confuses the hell out of them.
Seeing that people who claim to be Libertarians either don't vote or vote Republican, they are basically Republicans ashamed to call themselves Republicans. When the Libertarian party begins to hold seats, then I will take the party more serious.
