Immunity is just for criminal prosecution, right? She can still be sued in civil court?
Not using anything she says under immunity in front of congress. Ollie North got off because once he had spilled his guts in front of congress, it became impossible for anybody to convince a judge that they had some other source of evidence for his criminal activity. The doubt simply became overwhelming.
Immunity in front of Congress eventually ends up as a get out of jail free card.
The IRS employees could always just use the Ronald Reagan approach and answer every question from the Congressional panel "I don't recall". Same result without the need for any pesky immunity or invocation of 5th Amendment rights.
Immunity for what? She said she did not do anything illegal.
What does that have to do with anything?
