Not really, considering you & a few others are trying to act like "oh, these evil gays who have NO reason to feel threatened by the anti-gays just attacked people for the fun of it." Violence is never the answer, but knowing the history of anti-gay crime is relevant to the overall picture. But you just look the other way when it's a GAY person being assaulted or harassed, huh? Where is your rage for the gay bashers who get away with their crimes, or receive light sentences?
I am 100% anti violence. whether it be a fat homo sucker punching someone, or whether it be a religious freak hitting someone. in this case, it was the fat idiot. I have never seen the idiotic westboro baptist church resort to violence.
sweet. that means if I were there, I could have curbstomped that fat dork and received a misdemeanor.
If it were self-defense, maybe - and if they weren't seriously hurt, maybe again. But "curb stomping" usually results in serious to fatal injuries, so I have a feeling they'd charge you according to how badly they were hurt (and whether or not you were defending yourself).
Still didn't answer my question... WAS ANYONE HURT?? And what made you call for LIFE in prison over a minor scuffle? Can't admit that was a dumb comment, or what?

I called for life in prison because the death penalty is frowned upon in today's society.
I'm not aware of any Christian events in Seattle that are held on public streets and parks. Typically they are held in churches, or rented facilities. If they were held on the streets, gays would be welcome to show up and exercise their first amendment rights. If it is private property, it's a different story.
The gay pride parade takes place on public streets, and these religious folk had every right to be there, and express themselves, and not be assaulted. Unless you believe that (per Orwell) "some pigs are more equal than others."
This may come as a shock to you, but religious events do take place on public streets and parks.
I remember distinctly several incidents where Christian evangelists showed up at some Jewish gatherings in order to preach and interfere with the Jewish event taking place.
I agree with you in one respect - the First Amendment does protect freedom of speech, however obnoxious - something the Westboro Baptist Church knows all too well.
Can you blame some people for being irate? I can't.
Remember: these people infiltrated a gay event. If two or three individuals were insulted that their party was crashed I can understand why they got irate.
My final thought, before I leave you all to your bickering (on a holiday no less - do you all have lives outside of CD?) and head off to Southern California for a vacation...
Judging by the attitudes and language here, some of which I have reported (so it might be gone by the time you read this), I am understanding why they feel pushed to the limit. I don't know any "violent gays," just kind and peaceful ones; but even they might push back after being subjected to such hatred over the years.

Right, because death penalty is often handed out for shoving another person. Such a stupid and desperate comment... go drink a beer or something, for goodness sakes.
