If one thinks he could be killed, then self defense is justified. I'd say "dying" is the same as "losing" in that case.

And, this is the crux of the matter. Seems Zimmerman's whole case is based on unsubstantiated commentary.....including his own. I don't doubt that Trayvon did sock George at some point...I just do not believe that George as the one that escalated this whole stiuation should not be held accountable.
Trayvon had a right to defend himself...an unknown adult male following him, staring at him...talking to someone on the phone in low guarded tones. He could have very well been in fear for his life. Look at the teens that are stolen daily...We cannot open a paper or check a facebook status without seeing missing and abducted people. Trayvon's perceptions are just as critical, and more justified because of George's actions imo
The jury will decide.

Yes it is if they fear great bodily harm or death.

But thinking your life was in danger, even if it wasn't, makes it OK to kill someone?

Although I too skip over the posts regarding legal expertise & jury know-how.
I think many of us simply skip some posts.

But yet we still see post after post alluding that Martin was a drug addict...which then justifies him being shot.

.
According to the law, yes, if that's what it takes to defend oneself.

And, if that wasn't enough, he walked away with the creep's flashlight, the one that didn't work!

Black people are so dumb, that they'll steal an unworkable flashlight while leaving a perfectly good smaller LED flashlight at the T.

Boy! Talk about stupid!

The confrontation NEVER would have escalated if either of these two factors were present...GZ's identifying himself as opposed to playing cat and mouse or...GZ's not having his gun on him as this is what gave him the balls to leave his vehicle to pursue someone he perceived as suspicious.

How do you know its was not. Unless you are in that exact situation you do not know if a life was in danger. All that matters is that the person being attacked felt thier life was in danger. If they say it was, then it was.
